Join us on Sunday, October 4th for a Special joint program with our Temple Sinai Religious School students.
The First Basket is the first feature length documentary film to explore the connections between modern Jewish history and the evolution of professional basketball.
Most people today don't think of basketball as a “Jewish” game. Interestingly during the first half of the twentieth century, not only was basketball an important part of Jewish community life in America, but Jewish players actually dominated the game.
The First Basketis more than a tribute to the many great Jewish Hall of Fame basketball pioneers. It documents an important, yet somehow forgotten social history.
